Cul-de-Sac Kids was painted during the COVID-19 pandemic as a gift for my mom. When distance kept our family apart, I wanted to create something that brought all five of her children together in one place. While we couldn’t always gather in person, this portrait became a reminder that love and family aren’t defined by proximity.
Rendered in oil on canvas, the painting celebrates both our individuality and the bond we share. Inspired by the neighborhood where we grew up, Cul-de-Sac Kids is a reflection on home, memory, and the connections that continue to shape us long after we’ve left childhood behind.
